In the course of my work I see a lot of diabetics who lose vision due to eye disease. The alarming thing is that these people are young productive people. Blindness due to diabetes can be prevented if the retina is screened in time. In pics- A 40 year old lady with detachment of her retina due to diabetes. Never had her retina checked previously. Underwent a retinal surgery and is doing well.
Are you a diabetic? Does anyone whom you know have diabetes? Ask them to get a preventive eye checkup done now.
